Paolo De Anna was born in Milan, in the late sixties , but moved to Vicenza at an early age.
Vicenza, the city of Palladio, rich in art and tradition has greatly influenced his creative talent. His introduction to hand crafted work began in his family’s small textile workshop.
After completing his studies at school, he immediately started working in a small car body workshop. He quickly understood the versatility that a material such as metal could have: while appearing cold and sterile it can be beaten into new forms.
After a few years, he felt restless and so decided to explore a military career, coming into contact with the dog lovers’ world which has fascinated him ever since. At that stage, he decided to start his activity in the world of Pet care and has been a reference point for all lovers of our four-legged friends for over 30 years.
In 2011, looking for a new adventure, he founded Superfine, a brand which brings together his passion for outdoor life, walking through woods with his dogs, and his desire to create contemporary, yet traditional objects.
His first design objects have a dual function: dog kennels which become an elegant, decorative element of the home.
He begins to work with local artists and craftsmen who create luxury items and who help him to give birth to his ideas; simple sketches on paper become built objects thanks to the ability and the expertise of these masters.
He loves to define himself a dreamer, in love with what a man’s hands can create; moving from the inspiration he finds walking in the woods, to the workshop, to those luxury locations where he chooses to stay behind the scenes and look at his objects. Paolo’s objective and dream have always been to expand to far afield markets, for all those who love Italian genius and are fond of “made in Italy”, as are all Paolo’s products.
